Criminal Defense Appeals and Writs is geared toward effective written defense advocacy throughout the life of a case – from bail writs to petitions for certiorari in the United States Supreme Court. The court offers skill building for all levels of appellate practice, from the first appellate brief to esoteric writs. Attendees will hear from appellate experts in a variety of practice areas, including a Court of Criminal Appeals judge, court staff, academics, and state and federal criminal defense attorneys.
