Gene graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001 with a degree in Corporate Communications. He then attended law school at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas and graduated in 2005. While in law school he participated in mock trial and moot court. It’s there that he caught the litigationbug. He was also an editor for South Texas’ International Trade Law Journal, "Currents."
